I am now rolling down the runway toward podcast creation!
I'd love to tell you that my rolling is fuelled by massive, un-quashable self confidence, but, like the birthing of most creative projects it's more like rolling hills--the cliche ups and downs. Here's what the week's looked/felt like for me: Excitement and optimism: Hooray, my equipment arrived - look how pretty it is - I think I'm in love...with a microphone... Reality check: Oh shit, now I have to learn to use GarageBand (thank you Eric Trimmer for your excellent Youtube tutorial, you're a podcast saver...) Elation: Yippee I have a real live actual guest lined up... Scary voices: Are you sure you know how to do this? You'd better prepare by reading 'how to interview like a pro' blog posts until your eyes bleed... Lastly: Whatever. This is supposed to be fun and it will be what it will be (patting myself on the back, good job sweetie, you beat the negative self talk--time to binge watch Friends) Moving through all the stages to make the project fly is part of the creative process--it's that combination of excitement and and discomfort that makes our souls expand. And that's what it's all about. Learning, growing, going beyond where we currently sit comfortably, and getting to the heart of being more of who we are at our core.
